Our morning began at 7:00 am so that at 8:30 we were on the trail and ready for what turned out to be a rather long day. The group of us were to climb Mount Albert Edward, a hike that is 30km long. This was my first outdoor fitness experience and needless to say I was quite nervous when Theo made comments such as, I've never gotten an entire group to the top, or most people do this hike over two or three days.

The hike was beautiful, and although the accompanying pictures are astonishing they of course do not describe the true beauty of the scenery there. The entire group of us did make it to the top, to view the most amazing lookout, even myself! (Although I must admit that Emily had to practically pull myself up the final climb of the mountain.

We all made it back in one piece, a bit stiffer than before and with sorer feet but all in all in good shape. After sitting down in the Pearson van for the drive home I was truly satisfied with the accomplishment of the day.
