Pearson alumni have contributed to the college in many, many different ways. Few ways, however, have been as concrete -- and as entertaining! Alumni back for the reunion in August discovered that in most rooms in the college students are still using the same furniture they used some 30 years ago, much of it looking very worn. Then one person, discovering a distinctive mark, realized that the pillow she was sleeping on was the same one she'd slept on as a student. The result? A fundraising drive that provided all students in the college with new pillows! Year 1 grad Alejandro Bolz presented the pillows to Director Stuart Walker in September on behalf of the donor group.
This is the same donor group that raised $7,500 for college scholarships in an auction over dinner during the reunion. Reunion participants had brought national tee-shirts from home with them, and others bid on them generously. Obviously, these graduates have lost none of their imagination and flair!
