INTRODUCTION TO QUILTING

On Saturday April 23, we had a beginners quilting session in McLaughlin Dayroom. Barbara Guiliany (left, in blue), the assistant librarian, offered to help us to learn all the basics of paper piecing foundation technique. It was really challenging, because some students had never used a sewing machine before. They had not even sewed by hand before. With some fabrics and threads we were able to create really colorful and funky designs. We also got a sewing machine donated to the school, so we can practice whenever we want. It was a productive and relaxing day before the exams!
